Michael Glenn Purdy, a lifelong resident of Mahopac, NY passed away on Wednesday November 16, 2011. He was 56. Mike was born in Yonkers, NY on February 26, 1955, the son of Keith and Dolores Ranken Purdy.

Mike graduated from Mahopac High School in 1973. He was the tree trimming supervisor for the Town of Carmel Highway Department. He was a member of the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department and was currently serving as its President.

In addition to his mother of Mahopac, he is survived by his wife, Linda, his daughters, Shanon (Eric) Kort of New Paltz, NY, Erin (John) Gargano of LaGrangeville, Kari Purdy (Gary) of Mahopac and Brittany Purdy of Pleasant Valley, NY, his brothers, Keith, Terry, Dave, Shawn and Shane, his sister April Cotter and his grandchildren, Isla, Carter and Logan.

Visiting will be held on Sunday November 20 from 1-5 pm and Monday November 21 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday November 22 at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery in Mahopac Falls.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Michael's memory may be made to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 267, Mahopac, NY 10541.
