Judith L. Paolicelli of Mahopac, NY passed away on November 29, 2013 at the age of 65. She was born in Louisville, KY on January 14, 1948, the daughter of Leonard and Rose Hollander Shawler.

Judy was the secretary to the chief of the Carmel, NY Police Department, retiring earlier this year.

On January 6, 1968 she married Joseph J. Paolicelli in Louisville. Joseph passed away on October 16, 1999. She is survived by her children, Joseph Jr. (Janice) of Holbrook, NY, Christopher (Jennifer) of Mahopac and Michelle Zelyez (Craig) of Poughquag, NY, her sisters Carolyn Bowman and Norma Dean, both of Louisville and her grandchildren, Matthew, Lena, Ryan, Thomas, Michael and Rachael. Her sister, Mary Jo Shawler died earlier.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday December 5 from 4-7:30 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Per her wishes, private cremation services were held earlier.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Town of Carmel PBA.
