Walter E. Wagner of Mahopac, NY passed away on Friday June 16, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born in the Bronx on August 2, 1932, the son of Emil and Dorothy Doll Wagner.

Walter earned his Associates Degree at Westchester Community College. He served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Following retirement in 1988 from AT&T in White Plains, NY where he worked as a communications supervisor, he worked for the Mahopac Central School District as a school bus driver.

On September 1, 1956 he married Evelyn B. Knopp at St. Francis of Rome Church in the Bronx. In addition to Evelyn, he is survived by his son Glenn of Brookfield, CT, his daughters Barbara DeFeo and her husband Robert of Yorktown Heights, NY, Diane Alexander and her husband Richard of Mt. Kisco, NY and Suzanne Wagner of Jefferson Valley, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Danielle, Derek, Kristin, Kyle and Katherine and his great grandson, Hunter.

Visiting will be held on Wednesday June 21, 2017 from 3-7 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday June 22 at 10 am at the funeral home with interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers, NY.
