Ursula D Hair passed peacefully on January 27, 2019. She was born March 22, 1922 in Germany, came to the United States when she was 5 and has been a resident of the Town of Kent for 63 years.

She was a member of Drew United Methodist Church in Carmel, NY and Tompkins Corner Methodist Church in Putnam Valley, NY. She was instrumental in having her beloved church in Tompkins Corner being declared a historical landmark.

Ursula is predeceased by her husband, Douglas Hair, her parents, Karl and Charlotte Schoettker, and her siblings, Ingeborg Hair and Gunther Schoettker. She is survived by her 5 children, Barbara Hair of Holmes, NY, Douglas Hair of Carmel, NY, Jeffrey Hair (Patrice Spallone) of Amherst, NY, Carolyn Hair (Bil Tulipane) of Carmel, NY and Sandra Hair (William Burkhardt) Delanson, NY as well as 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was loved by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and all those who knew her simply as Gramma Hair.

Ursula was very involved in her community in the PTA and as one of the founders of the first Kent Public Library.

A Memorial Service will be held in the spring at Drew United Methodist Church, Carmel, NY through Joseph J Smith Funeral Home, Mahopac, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to causes near and dear to Ursula's heart.
