Miriam "Maryann" Diaz of Mahopac, NY passed away on Tuesday, November 29th after a long battle with cancer. She was born in the Bronx on February 24, 1955. Maryann was a loving and caring person not only to her family, but everyone in her life. She always gave support and love to everyone. She loved walks on the beach, watching the sunset on the lake, dancing and listening to music, dinning out, spending quality time with her husband, children, and grandchild. Maryann loved the holidays and took pride in making sure she decorated the house to represent her spirit. She believed that God will always watch over her and her family and will always take care of her even after death. Maryann was a mother to all and the love she gave to all those in her presence was remarkable. She is a woman who was one of a kind. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

She is survived by her husband Samuel Santaniello, by her mother Alicia Diaz, daughter Katherine Santaniello and her husband Rick, daughter Samantha Santaniello and her husband Frankie, siblings Angel, Eddie, Jorge, Nancy, and Migdalia Soto, and Octavio Quinones; and her grandchildren Orion and Evan Ortiz, and Frankie Trano. She was predeceased by her brother Daniel Diaz earlier this year.

Friends and family may call on Friday, December 2nd from 4-8 PM at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:30AM at St. John The Evangelist Church; also in Mahopac. Entombment will follow in the Rosewood Mausoleum at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
