Michael Verde of Mahopac, NY passed away on Thursday August 24, 2017 with his family by his side, at the age of 83. He was born in the Bronx NY on March 11, 1934, the son of Raffaele and Bianca Scotti-Verde.

Michael was educated in the Bronx and later served in the United States Army in Panama from April 1954 to March 1956. He went on to attend Food Trade Technical Schools and later worked in many restaurants, following which he worked for the Marriott Corporation for more than 25 years.

He married Carmella "Linda" Aliberto on June 25, 1961 and later settled and moved to Mahopac NY where they raised their family. He was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac and a member of Holy Name Society and Italian American Club of Mahopac where he was active over the years. In his spare time he travelled extensively and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and cooking.

In addition to his wife Carmella, he is survived by his four sons, Ralph (Linda) of Mahopac; Joseph (Laurie) of Patterson, Michael (Debbie) of Hopewell Junction, and Anthony Verde of Poughkeepsie and 12 grandchildren. Michael was predeceased by his sister Mary Santucci and a brother Silverio Verde.

Visiting will be held on Sunday August 27, from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac on Monday August 28 at 10 AM with entombment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
