Maria Barletta Serino passed away on Thursday December 29, 2016 at Northern Westchester Hospital, Mt. Kisco, NY surrounded by her family at the age of 96. She was born in Pietradefusi, Avellino Italy on July 9, 1920 to Giovanni Barletta and Edvige Carrozza . On May 7, 1942 she married Attilio Serino and together they immigrated to America in 1963 and established residence in Mahopac, NY.

Maria and Attilio were married for 49 years before his passing in January 1991. She is survived by her sons, Vincenzo (Victoria) of Carmel, Carmelo (Cynthia) of Pleasantville, Americo (Maria) of Mahopac, John (Dianne) of Sandwich, MA and Roland (Stephanie) of East Greenwich RI, 13 Grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter Carmela and son Gerardo.

We will all miss her smile, warm heart and endless energy. Maria loved spending time with family, knitting, crochet and baking, especially at the holidays. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visiting for friends and family will be held on Friday, December 30th from 4-8 PM at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 31st at 10AM at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
