Joseph "Mike" Soravilla passed away on November 1, 2016 at the age of 93. He was born on October 12, 1923, the son of Joseph and Hipolita (Anacabi) Soravilla. Mike was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served overseas during WWII. On May 8, 1949 he married Margaret Horner and together they raised 3 children.

His hobbies included golf, bowling, fishing, gardening, and making things. Mike loved to watch football, basketball, hockey, the History Channel and Animal Planet. His proudest accomplishment was raising his family who loved him deeply. His children regarded him as a best friend and father any person could hope for who put his family's needs above his own. He taught them everything they know.

He is survived by his son Michael and his wife Debbie, his son Kevin and his wife Patricia, his daughter Peggy McAuliffe and her husband Dan, his sisters Helen Dearman and Alice Russo, 6 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret, brothers Clyde and Severino, and his sister Mary Arrasati.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, November 3rd from 4-8PM at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 4th at 10AM at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac. Interment will follow at Pawling Rural Cemetery in Pawling, NY.
