Jerome D. Purdy of Mahopac, NY died on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the age of 69. He was born on August 21, 1949 the son of Mulford and Marguarite (Ranken) Purdy. Jerome was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and very active in the American Legion Post 1080 having served as a former Commander. He loved baseball and some would say he was a human baseball encyclopedia, the NY Yankees being his favorite to talk about. Jerry was known for making people laugh, with his brutal honesty, quick wit and the nicknames he would creatively come up with for his friends and family. He often participated in fundraisers and benefits within the community and cared very much about helping others. His dedication and willingness to help others will forever be remembered by those who knew him.

Jerome is survived by his daughter Danielle Purdy, his brothers Charles ("Trace") and John("Bo"), and his canine companion Holly. He was predeceased by his wife Darlene in 2002 and his sister Joan Marie Reilly.

All services for Mr. Purdy will be private.
