Frank E. Demeter, 85, of Mahopac, died peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Northern Westchester Hospital. Born in Tarrytown, Frank was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Vecsey) Demeter. After graduating from Washington Irving High School in Tarrytown, Frank was drafted into the Korean War. He served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge on April 7, 1955. After the war, he attended New York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1958. He worked in human resources at General Motors in Tarrytown for 30 years and also worked at Demeter's Tavern, a business his father began in 1947. Frank had many interests, but the joy of his life was raising his three sons and being an integral part of the lives of his nine grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Barbara (Clements) and his sons and their spouses, David (Margaret) of Delmar, New York, Jeffrey (Eva) of Pleasant Ridge, Michigan, Christopher (Karen) of Westport, Connecticut, and his nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Stephen.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1377 East Main Street, Shrub Oak, New York, at 11:00AM.
