Col. Francis X. Spor, NYARNG, Ret. of Mahopac, NY passed away on Wednesday, June 7th at the age of 85. He was born in the New York, NY, the son of Francis and Anna (Madden) Spor. On April 5, 1954 he married Margaret Taskowitz; they were married for 50 years before she passed away in 2005. Frank was a proud veteran of the US Army and served in the National Guard for over 40 years. He had a life-long interest in trains and model railroading and after his retirement he became an avid golfer.

He is survived by his sons Francis(Denise) and Stephen; his daughters Susan Erikson, Eileen(John) McMahon, and Mary(Carl) Minieri; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Spor and his sister Dolores Loesch.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a visitation on Friday, June 9th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac, NY. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 10AM, also at the funeral home. Committal services will follow the service at St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery in Brewster, NY.
