Edward O'Brien of Mahopac, NY passed away on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at the age of 81 with his family by his side. He was born in Co. Clare, Ireland on July 15, 1936, the son of Edward and Mary Kane O'Brien.

Edward emigrated to the United States in 1956. He was the retired owner of The Corner Deli in White Plains. He was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac and among his hobbies, he enjoyed the game of golf.

In 1960 he married Ethna Feeley in New York City. In addition to Ethna, he is survived by his son Edward and wife Carla of Mahopac, his daughters, Helen O'Brien and husband Aidan Gibbons and Anne O'Brien and husband John Lynch, all of Pearl River, NY; his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Olivia and Edward O'Brien, Ava Morgan and Pearse Gibbons and Grace, Catherine, Peyton and Madelyn Lynch; his brother Michael and wife Mary of Ireland, his sisters, Margaret Conlon and Susan Fogerty of Long Island and Teresa O'Rourke of Ireland.

Visiting will be held on Friday September 15 from 4-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 16 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac with interment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, NY.
