Angelo L. Bergamasco, age 84, of Mahopac, NY and formerly of the Bronx, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday February 18, 2017. He was born in Manhattan on March 14, 1932, the son of Pasquale and Irene Bergamasco.

Angelo served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired master butcher for the Grand Union grocery chain in New York City. Additionally, he was a member of American Legion Post 153 in the Bronx and a member of the Boys Club in Manhattan.

Angelo loved to cook and decorate, and presentation was very important to him. He loved to sing and enjoyed collecting models of cars and boats. Angelo could fix almost anything and would say "if I can't fix it, throw it out". He loved watching children play and most of all he loved spending time with his family.

On September 25, 1955 he married Rosemarie Locantro at Holy Rosary Church in Manhattan. In addition to Rosemarie, he is survived by his sons, Patrick of Suffern, NY and Thomas and his wife Anne of Norwalk, CT, his daughters Angele Masenior and her husband George of Forest Hill, MD, Irene D'Onofrio and her husband Frank of Conowingo, MD, and Antoinette Nardini and her husband John of Mahopac; his sister Florence Vidal and her husband Abe of Staten Island, NY, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Visiting will be held on Tuesday February 21, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac with interment to follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, NY.
