Tribute & Message From The Family

Frank J. Sampino, Jr. of Kingston, NY, age 76, passed away on November 19, 2018 after a brief illness. He had been a Dutchess County Corrections Officer for many years. He was also an employee of the Poughkeepsie School District. After retirement, he enjoyed operating the Zamboni machine at the Poughkeepsie Civic Center.

He leaves one brother, Jerome Sampino of Port Chester, NY, two sisters Mrs. Jeanette Murray of Cortlandt Manor, NY and Mrs. Theda Heinz of Mahopac, NY, one nephew and six nieces.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life.

Funeral services will be held at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 US 6, Mahopac, NY on Friday, November 23rd from 4-8 PM with a prayer service starting at 7:30 PM. A private cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in his name to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.

We are so sorry for your loss. It was always a pleasure to see Frankie at family celebrations and he was so warm and kind. Our heart breaks that we had not known of his passing and would have been to the services!

my deepest sympathies and prayers for your loss of Frank. I had the greatest opportunity of working with Frank at the civic center he taught me to drive the Zamboni. from there we became friends like brothers talk about all different things share laughs disappointment and just philosophy of life. we would do lunch/dinner with Laurie May discuss politics' of the civic center an things just a great time for me a true friend buddy such a good person I mourn his loss but his memories are forever never forget love ya lots Frank. again my prayers for the family at this time
