Antonio "Tony" Perrotta Obituary

Antonio "Tony" Perrotta, 86, of Mahopac, NY, formerly of Yonkers, died peacefully at his home on May 18, 2018. He was the husband of his beloved wife, Elvira "Vera" (DiDea) Perrotta.

Tony was born on August 28, 1931 in New York City to the late Cristina and Federico Perrotta. He graduated from Manhattan High School of Aviation Trades and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. A savvy mechanic who never met a machine he couldn't fix, Tony worked for many years with The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, keeping the refrigerators and freezers running smoothly at A&P's throughout New York City and Westchester. Along with his parents and siblings, Tony was the owner of Federico's Restaurant on McLean Avenue in Yonkers. Whether tossing pizza's in the kitchen or talking with customers, Tony was a fixture at the restaurant for over 50 years. He kept busy in retirement tending his vegetable garden and crafting wood clocks in every shape and size.

Besides his loving wife of 62 years, Tony is survived by his sons, Frederic Perrotta and his wife Sandra of Yonkers, Anthony Perrotta and his wife Mary Ann of Carmel, Thomas Perrotta and his wife Victoria of Southbury, CT, James Perrotta and his wife Patricia of Mahopac, Christopher Perrotta and his wife Corey of Mahopac; a sister, Nancy Recine and her partner Phillip Sanna of Yonkers; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Pasquale Perrotta and his sister Maria (Perrotta) Provencial.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 5-8 PM and Monday, May 21, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-9 PM at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Mahopac on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff's Shrine of Memories Mausoleum in Hartsdale, NY.
